JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary objective.
To ensure execution of production plans while ensuring optimum plant performance w.r.t production and quality parameters.
To ensure plant productivity and quality improvements, compliance to safety, and specific regulatory requirements in the plant.
PLANNING AND BUDJETING
Provide inputs to the unit director for preparing the budget for the plant focusing on infrastructure requirement, raw material requirement and manpower requirement.
Provide critical inputs for preparing the yearly, monthly, weekly, production schedule and ensure adherence to same.
Optimize resource utilization to achieve production target,including managing variances in the production plan.
Communicate feedback on production, raw material quality and quality of final product, for enabling business planning.
PRODUCTION AND QUALITY CONTROL.
Ensure implementation and adherence to the operational and quality policies to manage operations efficiently and to meet the production target as per set operational standards.
Ensure timely information is exchanged with sales and marketing team in order to reduce the cycle time for order processing.
Ensure implementation of cost effective and quality enhancing production measures in the plant.
Monitor availability of raw material and other resources on a daily basis and take appropriate actions for any escalated requirements.
Ensure adherence to the production schedule and timely dispatch of finished goods.
Ensure availability of manpower at all stages of production.
Facilitate inventory control at all stages of production.
Ensure compliances to all safety, health, and environment measures
In the plant and other statutory requirements.
Approve quality standards and ensure compliances to the same at every stage of production process.
Co-ordinate with the maintenance and procurement depts. In order to enable hassle free production in the plant.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Staff the production team as per the resource plan.
Resolving labour issues.
Develop and schedule training programs for the production department.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES.
Ensure systems and processes are adhered to the standard operating procedures (SOP'S) are followed.
Ensure regular production , quality, raw material stock, finished good stock and other essential reports are produced and are timely send to the HO.
Worked as PLANT MANAGER in WOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES LTD, Zambia ,Central Africa from 2005 june to may 2011.

Job Responsibility :
Production ; carrying out the production process day and night of the plant which is having two peeler, one slicer, three dryers, three glue spreader, two 15 daylight hot press, one 10 daylight hot press, one double dimension saw, four wide belt sander. Two planner, two multi rip, two automatic lumber composer for block board production,6 ton 5 bar boiler. One veneer core builder.
Quality Control ; carrying out batch wise QC test in order to confirm the standards as per the requirement.
Administration; labor handling and other internal affairs of plant like store handling, local purchase, preparing contracts etc.
Maintenance; carrying out preventive maintenance and breakdowns etc with necessary staff.
Finance; handling of petty cash and other purchases.

Planning from Log Yard to finishing to achieve the production targets with two peeler, auto green veneer clipper,11chambered 3 deck independent control dryer, one 30 daylight and one 10 daylight hot press, 3 pneumatic glue spreader, double dimension saw, slicer, kuper, sander, multi rip, planner, core composer, core builder etc.
