Brazil - UK - Greenpeace delivers picture to the Brazilian Embassy in London
Greenpeace delivers an image to the Brazilian Embassy in London ahead of President Dilma Rousseff decision on whether or not to veto a controversial new Forest Code for the country. If passed into law, the new Code will drastically reduce forest protection and drive up deforestation. The image depicts President Dilma photographing herself with a smartphone, while the Amazon rainforest burns in the background. Greenpeace (along with hundreds of thousands of Brazilians) is demanding Dilma veto the entirety of the new code and instead commit to ending deforestation in Brazil.05/18/2012
